A year had passed for the newlyweds. Things were becoming wonderful as each day passed. She never would have thought of becoming a wife.......and a mother. A mother to a son in which they named Baelfire. Mary was holding him within the cottage as she at by the window and watching the sun rise the next day. A smile came to her and she looked down at her child. It was an amazing feeling and she didn't know what to do or say that morning.
Hearing the door open she looked over at him as he entered. "How goes it?" she questioned softly as she smiled at her husband. Husband. Who would have thought just one day at the fair would cause this much happiness? All she could do was smile. Holding Bae in her arms she noticed he was still sleeping and she went to the little area in which he slept and put him down. As she stared at him for a while she looked up at him as she waited for his answer.

Rumple entered the cottage, it had been a year & much had happened he had married Mary that he had meet at the market & now they had a son, who's name was Baelfire.
He was happy & he knew he was lucky, he heard Mary words as he entered & he smiled to her as he spoke "I goes well & how have things been here?" He moved to lightly kiss her, in greeting for the time there was no rumor of war or fighting & he was grateful for it he did not wish to leave his family, though he knew at some point it the time came he would have not choose. "How is Baelfire?"

When he asked about Baelfire she looked over at the little section of the cottage in which their son slept in. "He's doing well. Sleeping almost all the time which is good" she said softly looking up at him. Her eyes closed as he kissed her and she returned it. Pulling back she looked at him and said nothing more.
"Is there any news about the frontlands?" she asked curiously. Mary knew about the war that was happening over there and she was glad that her husband did not go. She wished for him to stay here with them and be safe. Mary looked at her husband again and sat down and went back to her sewing.

Rumple felt his wife, return the kiss before pulling back at her words he spoke "I am glade to hear that, the only thing that I wish for is you two to remain safe" At her last words "So far, they have be able to hold the front line though, I am not sure how long it will last, though with any luck it will be over soon"

Mary stared at him for a moment as he spoke to her. "I know you do Rumplestiltskin. And all I want is your safety as well." she said suddenly. She was protective of her family as he was protective of them. Mary smiled softly again and looked out the window. "Its bad out there isn't it.." she said softly as she noticed the red in the sky getting darker by the minute. A sigh escaped her and she looked him again. "At least you refused to go into the war as well dear. I wouldn't know what to do..if you went in" she said as she rose again and hugged him tight. Not really wanting to let go.

Rumple heard Mary words "In many ways it is, though so far we have held are own & with luck this will all be over soon" He had not missed the red in the sky, he did not want to think of what it was & more so who's side it belonged to, he had been able to avoid the fighting, though part of him of course wanted to, the other mealy wanted to insure his family had a way to live & to insure they where safe.
At her last words he said nothing for the time, as she hugged him he returned it before he spoke "I did, though at the time there was more reason that I did not have to go, with time or even later on if war comes again, I cannot say I would be so lucky"
He just held her "Know that if it ever came to having to go, I would gladly fight until ether we win or I would have no choose, but to leave. Should it ever come to such times, I will always return to you both, I promise you that"

A sigh was released from her as he spoke. Mary's eyes darted from Bae's little abode towards her husband and she listened to him speak. She nodded her head to him and she looked out the window again. To the red in the sky and then back at her husband. "Hopefully you're right. I just.. don't understand why this is happening..." she said suddenly as she lowered the shade.
Mary looked at him again and listened to him some more. "They may need people Rumplestiltskin. Surely you know they're low.." she said suddenly. Everything had been different since they married and since the war begun. Within his arms she just placed her head upon him and didn't know what to do.
Her eyes closed as he held her and she looked up at him as he spoke to her. "No, I don't think could bare it.." she said suddenly as he said he would gladly fight. She was worried for his own safety. "I just hope it wouldn't come at all.. I..." she trailed off and she didn't know what to say. She was to terrified to even think of losing him to the war. Even though he'd be doing a great deal upon serving the place they lived. "I just don't know what I'd do if you went..." she said suddenly gripping the clothing he wore a little and she sighed and loosened her grip. "Sorry..." she said softly.

Rumple heard Mary words "There is nothing to be sorry for, I will not leave unless there is no other choose I promise" He nod it did not come to that, he did not want to leave his family, after hardly knowing what it was like to have one. He was enjoying his time at being a family man of having a family, so he was not so willing to give it up. "If it even came to such things, Mary I would go so far as to leave against orders, to stay at your side" Of course he knew what the price would likely be for doing so, though if she really did not want him to go, then he knew he was more then likely going to find away to get home.
