Storybrooke History: Merida’s family has always been a normal family, but are better off than most. Merida is in her freshman year of high school and has always kept good grades no matter what. She has a handful of friends, most likely because of her outgoing personality. In her free time her parents let her hike whenever she is able along with going to the archery outplace.
Fantasy History: When Merida was little, her family and friends were attacked by a bear. Her mother rushed her away while her father and the other men fought it and eventually killed it. With her father’s courage, he became King, and thus Merida’s family because royalty. Ever since then her mother would try and teach Merida about being a Princess, despite that Merida hates the role and no matter what, she still loved to play archery and go horseback riding. When Merida turned sixteen, her mother called the other kingdoms close by to see if there could be a marriage between Merida and one of the suitors. Merida hated her mother for it and they got into a fight. She vanished on horseback into the woods. There she found a witch who could help her change her destiny like she wanted since she thought her mother was never listening to her. The witch created a cake for Merida and she was to give it to her mother. Once Merida got home, she did give it to her mom and her mother turned into a bear. Eventually, coming together Merida and her mother were able to cure her mother by the love that their shared for each other and for their family.

Merida finally had a free day away from her princess duties and learning. She decided to quickly grab her bow and arrows from her room and she ran out of her house. She found her horse at the stables and got him read to ride. Once she was done she got up on him and they began to travel towards the woods where they normal would go. As she was riding, she saw some targets and she began to hit them with her arrows from her bow. She was enjoying herself and she was having fun. After a few minutes she finally got off for a minute and stretched. When she was done she looked around and decided to sit down in the grass. “I love this place Kaya.”, she said out loud to her horse. Kaya agreed because he nudged his nose up against Merida’s arm. Merida laughed when she felt her horse and she gave him a pet and a hug. They stayed there for awhile in silence and neither one could be happier about it since both loved the scenery.
