A Powerful Weapon

Red shrank back against the wall of her prison, wishing that doing so would allow her to disappear from her current situation. Though she had not yet made her acquaintance, she knew that she was in the dungeon of the Evil Queen's castle. King George's knights didn't realize that her heightened hearing had picked up every word they had tried to keep quiet as they carted her to the castle. They did not reveal why she was there, though. Perhaps the Queen had found out about her friendship with Snow and was using her as a bargaining chip? Or perhaps the Queen had other reasons. Reasons involving the four legged beast that resided within Red's soul. The idea made her shudder. She now had control of the wolf, thanks to the amulet created for her by Rumpelstiltskin, but if the Queen realized that...if she removed the amulet...Red didn't want to think about the dire consequences of that action.

She pulled her legs to her chest and tightly wrapped her red cloak around herself. Either option was possible. The chance had been taken when she stayed to distract King George's men as James escaped. Just her interaction with him pointed at her involvement in Snow's life and at least a dozen knights had seen her transform into the wolf. That was how one of the guards had discovered her weakness. She was no match for them after the cloak had been thrown back over her.

Whatever the reason, Red knew she wouldn't have to wait much longer before she found out.
