Storybrooke History:
Hook arrived with Cora, Tiny, and a stowaway Shondra thanks to using the waters of Lake Nostros to restore an enchanted bean to head to Storybrooke. He searches for Rumplestiltskin thinking he's the one at fault and believes Milah is dead. He is unaware Milah is in town and that his son he thought to be dead is one of his enemies.
He's currently working with Cora to help her get Regina's trust back and she'd help him get revenge on Rumplestiltskin. Hook is unaware Milah and his son are still alive. Believing he's now lost them both he wants to take out Rumplestiltskin.
Fantasy History:
Killian Jones grew up in the Enchanted Forest serving in the royal navy alongside his brother Liam Jones. Their kingdom was at war with another one so they'd been sent to find a plant that healed injuries. Killian and Liam found the plant but were warned by a passing old man the bush was poisonous. Killian wondered if the old man spoke the truth but Liam didn't believe him.
The old man was the Dark One Zoso. He was just trying to warn the pair to spare their lives. He was a free agent at the moment as his dagger was hidden safely in his pocket. He left though as the poison had no cure but he did see Liam foolishly try out the plant and collapsed. Killian held his brother trying to help him but Liam diedi in his arms. Heartbroken Killian returned to the ship tellinng the crew what happened and of the poisonous plants. He refused to return home and help his kingdom kill others with these plants and in his grief turned to piracy asking the crew to join him which they did.
During his travels he met Milah and they hit it off right away. He of course didn't realize she was married and had a son until one day they came looking for her. Of course he asked her to come join him on his ship and she did. Rumplestiltskin tried to stop him and he challenged Rumplestiltskin to a sword fight. When Rumplestiltskin refused Hook just let him go calling him a coward.
A few months later Rumplestiltskin returned now the new Dark One and told him that he would kill him for ruining his family. Baelfire was now sent to another world and Milah was dead. The next day he attacked him but Milah showed up to rescue him before Rumplestiltskin could deal the fatal blow. Learning the truth he let them go only to reappear on their ship. He was furious she'd deserted their son and she said she regretted that. But that she never loved him. In retaliation Rumplestiltskin took out her heart. Hook tried to stop him and his hand was cut off. Rather than crushing Milah's heart Rumplestiltskin took it with him leaving the couple alone.
Vowing to find a way to stop Rumplestiltskin and get his wife's heart back he took her and his crew to Neverland until he could find a way not wanting to run out of time. While in Neverland he made an enemy of Peter Pan and all the other inhabitants of the islands. He later returned to the Enchanted Forest and made a deal with Regina. She would return Milah's heart if he helped her kill Cora. When he went to Wonderland to complete the deed Cora stopped him and agreed to help fake her death. Hook then got what he came for as Regina had helped him get back by Milah's heart by having Graham steal it from Rumplestiltskin's castle.
After all these years of distance he and Milah were finally able to be happy again. But then a few months after that the curse hit and Milah was pulled to Storybrooke with the others while Cora and Hook remained behind with a few survivors. Cora posed as Lancelot having killed the original and tricked Emma, Snow White, Mulan, and Aurora to leading her to the wardrobe that they sent Emma threw. Emma burned it but Cora took the ashes. Hook and Emma went up a beanstalk to steal a compass from the giant Anton. Emma escaped but trapped Hook saying she couldn't trust him. He was rescued by Cora who shrunk Anton and put him a cage intending to take him and some magic beans with her to Storybrooke.
Hook and Cora confronted the group but Emma and Snow White made it through before they could. Hook revealed he had a magic bean and Cora used it to take them to Storybrooke along with their prison Anton and a stowaway Shondra who had seen the whole thing.

Hook frowned as he walked around Storybrooke. He had a score to settle with the crocodile. He learned Rumplestiltskin had made that curse that Regina had used. He had been separated from Milah during that time as Cora had summoned him to her. He didn't realize the curse was hitting or he'd have asked her to save Milah too but she said it was too late.
Not sure if Milah was dead or alive he still wanted revenge on Rumplestiltskin and would have it. If he found Milah alive here that would be wonderful but learning he'd been frozen in time for 28 years made him worry that she might have found someone else. After all she'd moved on from Rumplestiltskin to him so she could easily do that again. He saw the pawn shop and grinned knowing Rumplestiltskin went by Mr. Gold. It didn't matter what name the crocodile went by. His time was nearly up. Now he had to find that dagger Cora had told him about and then he could finish him off.
