Cora walked through the castle grounds with a silver gift box in her hand. As soon as she saw Mother, she ran towards her and suddenly came to a halt. "Mother! Mother! I'm home! And I brought you this gift! I hope you like it--- it's an emerald ring." Cora loved bringing her mother gifts. She brought her this one for a special occasion. There was something on Cora's mind, but she didn't know if Mother would approve of it. "Mother, can I... umm... can I go back to taking horseback riding lessons? I miss riding Blaze and all the other horses. Please, Mother, please! I'll do anything you ask... not like I already do that..." She pleaded and pleaded. Cora loved, loved, loved[/u] to ride horses. She had been riding for a long time, but then it just all stopped. She was longing to ride again.

The Dark Queen could hear the squealing voice of her daughter calling out her name. She hated when she did that very much and had told her that many times, but still continued to do so. She stopped and faced her child commng towards her with this beautiful looking box, which brought a smirk to her face a bit.
The Queen took the box from the childs hands and looked at it for a moment before she opened it. "Where did you get this?" she asked her with a skowl n her voice?". The Queen opened it and seen an emerald ring. "It's very nice", she said to her as she held her arm out to her and walked over to her and gave her a small hug. "I don't care where you got it...all that matters is that it is mine now", she replyed releasing herself from her daughter.
The queen was about to walk away and dismiss her daughter, until she was begging to go riding. The queen walked up to her and looked at her stright in the eyes. "Was this ring a bribe to me to say yes to let you go rideing dear?", she hissed at her. "No you can not go riding...and I don't really care if you would do anyting for me the answer is still no!" she sad as she turned around and headed towards one of her mirrors.

Cora loved that her mother liked the ring, but not that she thought it was a bribe. Also, why won't Mother allow her to go riding? She always said yes to riding. But, what has changed? "Mother, the ring was because I love you, and I know that your birthday is soon. So, it's an early gift... Mother, why can't I go riding?! You always let me! And Blaze is old and die any day now. I need to be there for him. Please, Mother, Please! Pretty Please with a bit of dark magic on top!" She knew her mother didn't like it when she begged even after she had said no, but it had to be done.

She lstened to her daughters begging for the last time. "Cora..stop begging..when I say no..that's it...end of story" she scolded her. She took a step back and realized that Cora was quite upset.
She looked at the ring and noticed that it was her favorite stone, and how pleased it made her that even her own daughter knew what she liked. She looked at Cora and then bent down to her and held her hands.
"Listen..it's just not safe out there these days, and I don't want the daughter of the queen to get hurt by any means" she said. The queen went to get up and seen that Cora was still upset and not understanding what she was talking about, she was a kid afterall. "Alright!..." she said to her wth a smirk. "I'll let you go riding ...but I will be comming along" she insisted as she called for the gaurds.

Cora was so excited to go riding. Though she hated it when her mother tagged along, she was at least happy to go riding again. Blaze, Cora's black stallion, was around 15 years old, just as old as she was, and he was her favorite stallion of all of the stables. Cora was headed out the castle doors with her mother when she had another sudden thought.
"Mother, one, thank you for allowing to me go riding. I'm looking forward to seeing you ride as well. Two, how did you meet daddy again? I know you told me the story many times, but I just love it so much! Can you please tell it one more time?!"
Cora was really thinking about her crush, Jake. She knew the queen would never approve him, or so she thought. Back to how her parents met, Cora just adored that story. Her mother seemed so beautiful, and daddy so handsome. It was your average love story... that eventually got ruined by an evil queen. Cora knew her mother thought about Daniel sometimes. Cora thought about him all the time. She had just wished he was still with them.

She started to see and hear her daughters happiness and listed to her kind words. "Mother, one, thank you for allowing to me go riding. I'm looking forward to seeing you ride as well. Two, how did you meet daddy again? I know you told me the story many times, but I just love it so much! Can you please tell it one more time.
She rolled her eyes in annoyment, as she had told it to her many times before and quite frankly she was very sick of the tale. "Not now Cora..you wanted to go riding, and ridng we shall now go" she said to her as she guided Cora towards the ground and to the stables of the castle.
She knew how much she loved hearing how much she and her father met, but it did upset her because the maan couldn't love her the way he did his first wife, Snow Whites real mother. She looked down at her daughter and spoke her words, "I know you like that story, but right then it wasn't a very appropriate time to tell it", she scoffed at her. "Maybe if your good, I may tell it to you before bed tonight" she added with a smile as they came just outside the stable doors.

Cora smiled as she listened to her mother. Then, she saw Blaze out of the corner of her eye. She ran over to him. "Mother! Mother! He's hurt! Blaze is hurt!" Blaze was on the ground and looked as though he was in a horrid pain. Cora didn't want anything to happen ato him, for she loved him so very much.

After a few short moments after they got just outside the stable, she heard her daughter's voice in disstress. "Mother! Mother! He's hurt! Blaze is hurt!" The Queen turned her head and peeked in to where her daghter saw her horse and she had seen him lying there in pain.
The Queen called for the stable keepers right away demanding an explanation to why her daughters horse was in this conditon. She knew Cora would be heartbroken if anything happened to her childhood steed, but the Queen was quite powerfull herself and she was sure that she had something that would help, but it may take a bit of bartering wth a certain "you know who".
"Don't worry Cora, he will get better soon" she said to her as she took her in her arms tightly. She looked at the stable keepers and scolded them. "If this horse is not brought inside iedietly and is attented too, then I will come and get you myslef and put your heart in my box in my castle, where it wll be mine", she said as she and Cora turned away and headed back for the Castle.

Cora was sobbing into her mother's shoulder now. She didn't want Blaze to die because he had been Cora's favorite stallion ever since she was 3 years old. "Mother, what are we going to do now? Since we can't go riding?" She asked with a worried look in her light hazel eyes.

Regina looked at her daughter and took in more feelng than she had in years, but no matter how evil the woman was, she did love her daughter. "We are going to go back home and see what else we can do, while I have these horseman's make Blaze better", she said to her with a grin and guided her away from the scene.
The Queen had no clue what she could do, but she did come accross something of a solution, but it always came with a price. She wasn't sure if she should get involved with Rumplestiltskin to barter for a cure, but she would keep it in the back of her head for now.
"What eelse would you lke to do today then Cora" she asked her while they were almost at the castle. "Anything your heart desires, we will do...just name it" she said to her while she put her arm over her shoulder.

Cora loved her mother ever so deeply. But what she loved more was the story about how mother met her stable boy, a.k.a. Cora's father. She had already asked mother to tell her the story, so she was afraid to ask again. But, she did so anyway. "Mother, I really want you to tell me how you met your stable-- i mean, daddy! Please! I'll be a good little girl...! Mother, do you miss daddy?" She asked in curiosity. Cora never got to meet her dad, but she has heard many stories, and has gotten a pretty good visual of him. Even though they have never met, she still loves him dearly.

The Queen never thought her daughter would ask again the same question as she did 100 times before, but she heard it once again. "Mother, I really want you to tell me how you met your stable-- i mean, daddy! Please! I'll be a good little girl...! Mother, do you miss daddy?", she heard her Cora ask, as her mother tried to watch her tone since her horse was near death.
"Cora, I already told you when I would tell you that story...and it was before bed remember?, she said to her, now stopping infron of her crouched down to her daughters eye level. "And for your other question, If I miss your father?" she said to her trying to smile while she answered. "Of course I do..everyday" she added.
The Queen stood up and started to walk again with her daughter. "Enough of his sad talk, lets have a tea party back at the castle, that would be fun...don't you think", she asked her daughter, hopeing it would take her mind off some things for the time being.

Cora was quite upset because she couldn't hear her favorite story at the moment. She loved how her mother, The Dark Queen, fell in love with a stable boy and that they had planned to run away together. Cora had dark feelings about this one so-called Princess, Snow White, because Snow White was practically the one who killed her father. If Snow White hadn't told Nanna, Cora, then her father, mother's stable boy, wouldn't have died, and they would be a happy little family. But, we all know that can't happen now. Cora listened to her mother's response carefully, hoping she would finally tell the story, but all she heard was, "Cora, I already told you when I would tell you that story...and it was before bed remember?" Cora rolled her eyes in disgust. She was eager to hear that story once more. Then, her mother said something else as Cora was walking up the castle's front stairs leading to the courtyard. "And for your other question, If I miss your father? ... Of course I do..everyday" Cora smiled. She was glad that her mother thought about daddy everyday. Cora, too, missed her father, even though she had never actually met him. "I miss him, too, mommy. He'll always be right here, in my heart." she said putting her hand over her heart. She listened to her mother once more as she was suggesting some other activity they could do. "Enough of his sad talk, lets have a tea party back at the castle, that would be fun...don't you think" her mother had said. Cora rolled her eyes once more. She hated tea parties. She was 15 years old, and that is much too grown up for tea parties. Unless this was a formal tea party and not just a little kid one, then she might have taken it into consideration. "Mother, can we do something other than tea parties. I'm much too grown up for tea parties. And tea parties are for babies. I'm not one of those anymore... Could we, umm, could we maybe go for a little stroll in the horse-drawn carriage? I like those." She did, in fact, adore horse-drawn carriage rides throughout the land. When Cora and her mother would go on these rides, she felt as though she was a young, popular princess. Princess Coraandra. she would think inside her head. When she thought of this, she felt good inside, instead of feeling evil and dark inside.

The Queen watched as her daughter rolled her eyes at her whenever she would say something in reply, "Stop rolling your eyes, it's unatractive" she said to Cora, when then Cora had something to say in return.
"Mother, can we do something other than tea parties. I'm much too grown up for tea parties. And tea parties are for babies. I'm not one of those anymore... Could we, umm, could we maybe go for a little stroll in the horse-drawn carriage? I like those", she heard her daughter ask. Her mother thought for a moment, that it was true and she was now older..so why not bring her to the adult tea party since she had never been to one of those before.
Her mother looked at her now,"Well...you are old enough to come with me to have tea with the adults" she said. Now about the carriage, she did enjoy doing that with Cora very much and she couldn't remember the last time that they had done that together. "Yes Cora, I would enjoy a wonderful carriage ride through the forest..it has been awhile...let's go then" she said to Cora, now making their way to the castle. The Queen had realized that she has put her daughter in a form of neglect for sometime now, and with her being the dark queen she is it does take up alot of her precuious time.

Cora smiled again towards her mother. She loved horse-drawn carriage rides with the queen. They were a lot of fun. She could tell her mother anything during those rides. Cora hopped into their big, black carriage that was going to be pulled by Blaze's brother, Storm, who of which Cora had named when she was a little girl. That afternoon, Cora was wearing her favorite purple, silk and satin dress with a big, pale pink bow in the back. She had brought along her pink parasol with her as well. She was trying to look her best in every which way, for if she met any strangers, she didn't want them thinking worse of her.
"Mother, I'm so glad we were able to do this today! I just adore carriage rides. ... What if we come across little kids in our path like that one time? What will we do?" she asked her mother with a look of curiosity written on her face. On one of the previous carriage rides she had taken with her mother, they had come across these kids running loose in the cobblestone paths in the forests. Eventually, those kids turned out dead later on. Cora hated to see things like that. But, all at once she felt triumphant at the matter as well.
