Alex walked into the sheriff's department nervously. She had never been to a police department before. "Excuse me, Sheriff Swan?" she said even more nervous than she felt. "May I speak to you?"

Emma was just running through some paperwork when she heard a familiar voice. When she looked up, it was Alex. She could hear the nervousness in her voice when she went over to her.
"Hi Alex," she started, "Yea, sure, let's go in here." She led Alex to office area and offered her a chair, "What's up?"

Alex followed Emma into the other room. "Okay. Well, my father died 3 years ago, and I never told anyone. My mother is alive but I don't know who she is, what she looks like, or where she's at..."She said biting her lower lip.
