Henry grinned as he arrived at the stables. He was finally getting riding lessons. And his mother's fiance John had offered to give them to him. Emma had said it was ok and even Regina was happy about it. His was really looking forward to this. He just hoped he didn't fall off the horse or something. He grinned looking around waiting for John to arrive so the lessons could begin. He wondered which horse he'd get to ride.

John stopped his car at the stables, turning off the car he got out moving for the stables he say Henry he smiled to him "Hey Henry ready for your ridding lesson?" He of course knew the answer it was more he just felt it would be fun to ask all the same, he would start him off with a saddle & a horse that he knew was well trained one he trained himself, but with time he would move Henry up to no saddle to work more on his balance & skill of course on when that would happen would come to how Henry progressed with each lesson, he was not expecting perfected the only thing he wanted was for Henry to try & to lesson to him.

Henry grinned. He wished one of his mothers could have been able to make it but they were both busy. So were his grandparents. But John was Regina's boyfriend. And with her pregnant chances are he could end up being his stepfather one day. Regina might marry him sooner than later. Perhaps before she got too fat to walk around. Although he wasn't sure what their plans were. If she decided to wait until after she had the baby he'd support that too. He was just glad his mom had found someone and was happy. He paused looking up as John spoke and nodded.

"Yeah. I know it will take a lot of practice until I get good at it. I'm just glad I get to learn how to ride. At least I don't have to wait until I'm 16 like I would for a car. So where do we start?" said Henry.

"You will learn with time & who is to say that you do not get really well at ridding faster than you think" He watched him & chuckled "In a way you can think of this as driving a one horse power" He wait a moment "As for where to start, I will let you meet the horse you will be ridding & I can get him saddled, form their will lead you around allowing you to get the feeling & if you are ok with that I will allow you to ride on your own" He waited to see what Henry to speak to see what the thought, as he did he moved to lead him to the stall the horse was, if he enjoyed ridding they could look at getting Henry his own horse later on. "This horse that you will be ridding is called Night Wing" The horse was almost all black yet had 4 shocks & a blaze on his forehead, the horse was well in training so Henry would not have to worry.

Henry nodded listening to him.

"So you're saying everyone's different? I could be a natural and not know it?" asked Henry.

He chuckled as well at his joke.

"I suppose so. I don't think I'd want to drive more than one at a time anyway." said Henry.

He paused as John said to start with meeting the horse and after they get him saddled he'd help him lead the horse around to see if he was ok before trying to ride him on his own.

"Sounds like a good plan. With you guiding me I'm sure I'll be fine. Maybe you can let me know how to not spook the horses." said Henry.

He followed John to the stalls and grinned at the name.

"Night Wing? Cool. That's the name of a super hero." said Henry.

He looked at the horse in amazement as he paused looking at John.

"Is it okay if I pet him?" asked Henry.

Eric chuckled at his words "Everyone has thier own skill level & some just apper to be born with it more than others" He nodded with his words "It is a good idea to know how not to spoke a horse, mostly talking to them to letting them know you are thier is a good start & it is also good not to walk really close up right up behind a horse if you do not know them well for thier is the chance they could kick of course any horse I would start you with I would not feel that to be such an out come"

He smiled with his words "Yes it is a cool name, I am not sure if he was named after the supper hero, but we can say he is & that way you both can go out & fight crime" He could not help the smile that played at his lips "Of coure you can pet him & I also broght you some treats to give" With that he moved to get the treats befor showing Henry how to give them to the horse "Just make sure to keep your hand flat when giving the horse the treat for it helps you form getting bit by mistake"

Henry nodded listening to him. This was good to know.

"Then I'll just go at my own pace and not expect anything. At least not this soon." said Henry.

He listened as Eirc told him to talk to the horses and not walk behind them. They could kick him and really hurt him if he spooked them.

"I'll remember that. Those legs look pretty powerful." said Henry.

He grinned at Eric's words.

"That does sound cool. I wonder if mom would buy me this one. If the stable owners would let me keep him here and I could take care of him. Feed him, and ride him. I just don't want to get too close and someone else buys him away from me." said Henry.

He grinned as Eric said he could pet him. Henry pet Night Wing who seemed to like it. But he didn't know much about horses so he didn't want to risk scaring him. So he stepped back from Night Wing once Eric left to get the treats. He nodded listening to his advice. He took some of the treats keeping his hand flat as he held it out for the horse. The horse ate them licking his hand in the process which made Henry laugh.

"He's such a great horse. I can't wait to start riding with him and getting to know him better." said Henry.
